Your Okta Tenant Just got More Resilient

MightyID is deepening its support for Okta customers with first-of-its kind features supporting a more flexible backup and recovery for Identity Access Management systems.

October 8, 2024

As one of the only IAM resilience solutions in existence,MightyID is strengthening its support for Okta tenants through a series of first-of-their-kind features. MightyID will be displaying these features at Oktane, Okta’s annual conference, in Las Vegas, NV on October 15-17.

As a pioneer and innovator in Okta backup and recovery, MightyID is releasing several highly anticipated features. Some of the new Okta resiliency features MightyID will be introducing include:

Okta Workflow Backup and Recovery

MightyID is the first IAM resiliency solution to give Okta customers the ability to backup and restore their Okta Workflows and associated tables.

Okta Workflows – a feature added by Okta in 2021 – is a powerful tool that many Okta customers rely on. Workflows are nearly impossible for Okta customers to backup and restore through custom scripts because of the lack of API support, and the complexity of the feature.

“This is a game changer for many Okta customers,” says JerryMiller, Director of Product at MightyID. “Workflows change often and can be easily broken, so MightyID’s ability to frequently backup and conveniently restore them is a huge benefit.”

Attribute-Level Restores

MightyID is again the first to release attribute-level restores for Okta customers. Attribute-level restores will allow targeted restoring of specific fields, such as user departments or employee identifiers.

“An easy example of a use case is a runaway script that accidentally removes all user addresses,” says Miller. “In this case, MightyID can simply restore the user addresses while leaving all other fields alone.”

These newly released Okta Resiliency features are exclusively available to MightyID customers. They are added to existing features such as:

-             Continuous backups to provide point-in-time restores

-             Change360 cybersecurity investigation capabilities into unwanted IAM changes

-             Migration tool to help customers switch IdentityProviders (e.g. moving from PingOne to Okta)

-             Failover to a new Identity Provider in an emergency situation

Why Backup and Recovery for Your Okta Environment Is SoImportant

IAM resilience solutions, like MightyID, are growing in popularity as security and infrastructure leaders recognize gaps in their ability to recover from disruptions in access to their IAM environments.Identity and Access Management is increasingly seen as a mission-critical business function, and any disruption to access can be catastrophic for businesses.

“MightyID is continually looking for ways to make it easier for companies to get effective Okta recovery in the face of IAM disruptions,”says Ray Zadjmool, CEO of MightyID. “Your Identity Access Management is your most powerful security tool, but it can be your single point of failure if something goes wrong.”

The MightyID IAM resilience specialists will be exhibiting at Booth #EM9at the Oktane show. For an advance appointment, please contact sales@mightyid.com to set up a private assessment of your IAM risk.
